Clearing the Doubt: What is the Oklin Machine For?

Clearing the Doubt: What is the Oklin Machine For?

Food waste is one of the largest waste streams found in every household. When disposed of through landfilling, it generates methane gas, one of the major greenhouse gases contributing to global warming. As a result, people have started to promote simple ways to make use of food waste, such as producing organic compost for household use. However, the traditional composting process usually involves multiple steps, takes months to complete, and can cause unpleasant odors.

To address this, Oklin (Thailand) has applied the concept to its product, creating the Oklin Composter – a food waste composter capable of processing waste into compost within just 24 hours.

The Oklin Composter uses biotechnology to break down food waste, reducing its volume by up to 80–90% within 24 hours. It employs high-performance microorganisms that can withstand high salt or acid levels, have a long lifespan, and require no maintenance—unlike conventional microbes. The end product is high-quality organic compost starter, which can be used to enrich soil, promote leaf growth, and enhance crop yields. For agricultural use, it can be mixed with soil at a 1:10 ratio or sprinkled lightly over the soil surface. The amount of compost produced depends on the machine model and the quantity of food waste input, with compost volume typically amounting to 10–20% of the original waste weight.

In addition, the Oklin Composter features a Hygienization system that eliminates pathogens and bacteria according to European Union Regulations, and Nano Technology that accelerates odor decomposition. The process releases only water vapor and natural carbon dioxide into the air, completely avoiding methane emissions. This technology has been tested and proven to be environmentally friendly, safe for users, and safe for fertilizer application.

OKLIN – Eco-Friendly Food Waste Composter
Turns food waste into dry fertilizer within 24 hours. It handles liquids without the need for separation, requires only a one-time microbial starter with no refills for its entire lifespan, and uses natural microbial decomposition that is safe for the environment. The process produces ready-to-use organic fertilizer and requires no filter changes, reducing hazardous waste. An Australian innovation, it is easy to use for both households and industrial applications.
