True Digital Park and OKLIN donate plant nutrients from food waste composting to Bang Pla Municipality’s “Baan Nee Mee Rak: Grow Your Own Vegetables” project in Samut Prakan.

True Digital Park joins forces with OKLIN to promote community sustainability by donating plant nutrients produced through Oklin’s food waste composting technology to Bang Pla Municipality’s “Baan Nee Mee Rak: Grow Your Own Vegetables” project in Samut Prakan.

True Digital Park, in collaboration with Oklin (Thailand) Co., Ltd., organized the “Sustainability for Communities” initiative, donating 1,500 kilograms of plant nutrients produced from food waste collected from the food court and various shops within True Digital Park. The fertilizer was presented to the “Baan Nee Mee Rak: Grow Your Own Vegetables” project at Bang Pla Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO), Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province.

The handover was received by Mr. Pasin Phusaean, Bang Pla SAO Permanent Secretary, together with village representatives and more than 100 members of the Bang Pla Women’s Group from 15 villages. The donation aims to support local vegetable gardening, promote chemical-free produce, and strengthen community-based sustainability practices.

The Bang Pla Women’s Group today is a diverse community where Thai Buddhists and Thai Muslims live side by side, with differences in social customs, art, culture, and traditional dress. To strengthen unity and foster harmony between the two faiths, the group has built a bond through community living and solidarity across cultures. One of its key initiatives is to provide women with livelihood skills through training in hydroponic farming and growing pesticide-free vegetables at home. This is implemented under the “Baan Nee Mee Rak: Grow Your Own Vegetables” project, inspired by the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to promote household vegetable gardening as a means of ensuring food security.

True Digital Park, recognizing the importance of proper waste segregation and the value of repurposing food waste, has encouraged employees to actively separate waste within the organization while also raising awareness among visitors to the retail center. Food waste collected is processed using Oklin composting machines, turning it into nutrient-rich plant fertilizer for use within the organization and distribution to the wider community.

The 1,500 kilograms of plant nutrients donated to this project were produced from 9,600 kilograms of food waste collected at True Digital Park. This process reduced the carbon footprint by 4,464 kg CO₂e, cut methane emissions from landfill by 3,063 kilograms, and prevented greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those produced by 137,211 diesel-engine vehicles traveling 10 kilometers.

The collaboration between Oklin (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and True Digital Park highlights a shared commitment to tackling large-scale food waste challenges and building a sustainable environment. The initiative not only increases green space but also supports the care of community green areas, schools, and forested land—helping to boost oxygen levels through improved tree planting and fostering a healthier, more sustainable ecosystem.
