Oklin Green Space Workshop at Bangkok Patana School

#oklingreenspaceworkshop — A workshop on vegetable planting and fertilizing with compost produced from food waste decomposed by Oklin, combined with an educational session on global warming for Year 1 students at Bangkok Patana School, Bangkok. The program covered 7 classes with over 160 students. In addition to gaining new knowledge, the students were introduced to an innovative method for food waste management, enjoyed the hands-on workshop activities, and took their plants home to continue caring for them.

Oklin Green Space Workshop at Bangkok Patana School

Oklin recently hosted the Green Space Workshop at Bangkok Patana School in Bangkok, focusing on both environmental education and hands-on learning. The program was specially designed for Year 1 students, with over 160 participants across 7 classes.

The workshop began with an engaging learning session about global warming, its causes, and how everyday actions can help reduce its impact. Students were introduced to the concept of sustainable waste management, with a special focus on food waste — one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions when disposed of improperly.

Oklin demonstrated its innovative food waste composter, showing how it can transform organic waste into nutrient-rich compost within just 24 hours. The students saw first-hand how leftover food from cafeterias or homes can be repurposed into something valuable for the environment.

Following the educational talk, the students took part in a vegetable planting workshop. Using compost created by the Oklin machine, they planted seedlings in small pots, learning about plant care, soil nutrition, and the benefits of organic fertilizer. The activity was not only fun but also aimed to nurture environmental awareness and responsibility from an early age.

At the end of the workshop, each student took their plant home, giving them a personal project to continue caring for and a daily reminder of how waste can be transformed into life. This initiative perfectly combined learning, creativity, and sustainability, inspiring the next generation to take action for a greener future.

OKLIN – Eco-Friendly Food Waste Composter
Turns food waste into dry fertilizer within 24 hours. It handles liquids without the need for separation, requires only a one-time microbial starter with no refills for its entire lifespan, and uses natural microbial decomposition that is safe for the environment. The process produces ready-to-use organic fertilizer and requires no filter changes, reducing hazardous waste. An Australian innovation, it is easy to use for both households and industrial applications.
