DAD Promotes Green Society by Delivering Plant Nutrient Supplements from Food Waste to FIO and the Princess Mother Memorial Park, Advancing Sustainable Waste Management

Dhanarak Asset Development Company Limited (DAD Asset Development) continues to advance its mission in sustainable development and environmental management. Ms. Pakaporn Chonthong, Senior Director of Government Complex Administration Division 1, together with Mr. Apichai Saisadudee, Senior Director of Governance and Sustainability Division, DAD staff members, and environmental partner Oklin (Thailand) Co., Ltd., represented by Ms. Nattakan Klawutthianan, Managing Director, jointly delivered plant nutrient supplements produced from food waste generated within the Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary, 5 December 2007, to two organizations. These included the Forest Industry Organization, receiving 10,000 kilograms, and the Princess Mother Memorial Park, receiving 2,000 kilograms. The handover ceremony took place at Ratthaprasasanabhakti Building, Government Complex on Chaeng Watthana Road.

The delivery of plant nutrient supplements derived from food waste represents another significant activity reflecting DAD’s commitment, in collaboration with private sector partners, to promoting integrated waste management practices. The initiative emphasizes waste reduction at the source through efficient waste separation processes and the transformation of food waste generated within the Government Complex into valuable resources. This is aligned with the Circular Economy concept, which prioritizes resource reuse, minimizes environmental impacts, and promotes long-term sustainability for society.

Over the years, DAD has continuously developed waste management systems within the Government Complex, particularly in handling organic waste, which constitutes a significant portion of waste generated from food courts, retail outlets, and various government agencies within the premises. Through the application of technology and innovation, food waste is processed into high-quality plant nutrient supplements that help improve soil quality, enhance plant nutrients, and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers, which may have long-term adverse effects on ecosystems.

The plant nutrient supplements delivered to the Forest Industry Organization will be utilized for maintaining forest areas and supporting tree nursery operations, helping to enhance soil fertility and promote forest resource restoration across the country. Meanwhile, the 2,000 kilograms delivered to the Princess Mother Memorial Park will be used for maintaining green spaces and landscaping within the park, preserving its beauty as a public recreational area and serving as an environmental and natural learning center for youth and the general public.

Ms. Pakaporn Chonthong stated that DAD places great importance on environmental management alongside the development of the Government Complex as a model of sustainability for the public sector. Managing food waste is considered one of the company’s key missions, as organic waste can be effectively reused when properly managed. This initiative further maximizes resource utilization and strengthens environmental cooperation between public and private sectors.

Mr. Apichai Saisadudee added that the activity is consistent with DAD’s governance and sustainability policies, which emphasize responsible business operations toward society, the environment, and all stakeholders. The company actively promotes environmental awareness among employees, service users, and visitors to the Government Complex through continuous campaigns and environmental projects.

Ms. Nattakan Klawutthianan, Managing Director of Oklin (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated that the company is pleased to support environmental management initiatives in partnership with DAD as an environmental network partner. As a specialist in environmental management and integrated cleaning services, Oklin prioritizes innovation and environmentally friendly operational processes. This collaboration demonstrates the power of public-private partnerships in promoting a green society and encouraging efficient resource utilization.

This collaboration in delivering plant nutrient supplements produced from food waste to external organizations also highlights DAD’s role as a center for knowledge exchange and best practices in environmental management. The company remains committed to expanding cooperation with government agencies, private organizations, and the public to jointly foster an environmentally friendly society and support sustainable development goals.
