AIS Delivers Value from Food Waste, Donates Organic Fertilizer Produced by Oklin Machines to Support Forest Restoration by FIO Nakhon Ratchasima

Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS) continues to advance sustainable waste management by transforming food waste into useful resources. The company has donated plant nutrients—organic fertilizer produced from food waste using Oklin food waste treatment technology—to the Forest Industry Organization, Nakhon Ratchasima District Office (FIO) for use in tree planting, soil enrichment, and forest restoration activities in the area.

The donation was represented by AIS executives, led by Mr. Napholadej Kitchanphaiboon (MD-ACC), Mr. Teerayut Rangseewong (H-CC NMA), Ms. Wawduen Lamsam (H-CC BKK), and Ms. Nithiwadee Sowanit (H-HRCC), reflecting the role of the private sector in addressing environmental challenges through tangible actions.

Managing Waste from the Source with Employee Participation

AIS has implemented a systematic internal waste management program, beginning with waste separation at the source within its workplace in Nakhon Ratchasima. Employees are encouraged to correctly segregate waste—particularly separating food waste from other waste streams—so it can be efficiently processed using Oklin machines.

The segregated food waste is treated through a biological decomposition process that significantly reduces waste volume and converts it into plant nutrients suitable for practical use. This approach helps reduce landfill disposal, minimize odors and environmental impacts on-site, and lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional waste management methods.

FIO Continues the Value Chain, Bringing Food-Waste Fertilizer to Ecosystem Restoration

The Forest Industry Organization, Nakhon Ratchasima District Office, received the plant nutrients from Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited to support soil conditioning, seedling cultivation, and forest rehabilitation projects. This aligns with FIO’s core mission to conserve, manage, and develop the nation’s forest resources.

Returning plant nutrients produced from food waste back to nature represents a complete resource cycle—from leftover food after consumption to nourishment for soil and trees—adding value to materials once considered waste.

Public–Private Collaboration Driving Sustainable Waste Reduction

The project highlights cross-sector collaboration at every level—from employees who play a key role in proper waste segregation, to organizational policies that integrate sustainability into daily operations, and partnerships between the private sector and government agencies to address food waste systematically.

AIS remains committed to continuously improving waste and resource management practices to align business operations with environmental goals and deliver long-term positive impacts for society. The company believes that efficient waste management is a crucial mechanism supporting the country’s sustainable development.

This donation of plant nutrients derived from food waste is therefore not only an environmental initiative, but also a clear example of integrated public–private collaboration—transforming waste into value and restoring benefits to natural resources in a concrete and meaningful way.
